Sophie's Story...
My name is Sophie, and I am a very sweet shy 1 year old little girl that is so full of love! I get along with the animals here at the rescue and we run and play every day together in our large play yard. I am current on all my shots, I am heart worm negative and am spayed. They tell me that I have the sweetest eyes in the world you can almost see the love and devotion I have for people right in my eyes. I am a young girl, and am potty trained to a doggy door. Being that I am shy I will need someone with a gentle hand to guide me in what they want me to do and I will gladly do whatever they want, Please consider me for you new family member and give me my happy ending. If you are interested in adopting me please go to this wonderful rescues web site heavencanwaitanimalrescue.com and fill out an application.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Heaven Can Wait began it's journey of saving lives in October of 2010. 4 women, 1 dream, and mission of saving dogs. We all have volunteered in shelters and realized that shelter pets needed another option, because for most of them when their time was up, that was it.

January of 2012 we opened our "Lodge"(we call it that cause we DO NOT like the shelter word and we try not to even say it around our dogs). It's amazing, we try to make our dogs feel as comfortable and at home as possible. Because after all we are preparing them for their furever home.

We are a small rescue and we are so proud of all of the lives we have saved and are going to save....this is only the beginning. Also, we are helping our community become educated about pet care, spay and neuter, and what a shelter life can be for an animal.

Last but not least I have to brag about our volunteers, without them we could not exist. They are truly the backbone, they foster, help with fundraisers, network our dogs, and most of all have the same passion we do.

We are strictly a non-profit rescue located in a small southern Kentucky town. We survive off of fundraiser and donations. We decided early on that we wanted to keep all of our pups on a consistent diet all the time.

If you want to help this is a great way to help because the second largest expense we have is dog food. We feed Pedigree adult food, Purina puppy chow and who could forget about the Milk Bones!! Everyone needs to be rewarded right.

There are all kinds of ways you can help: Help network our pets for adoption, donate to the day to day use items such as:paper towels, bleach, Pedigree dog food, Milk Bones, dish washing detergent, laundry detergent, dog toy, collars, leashes, blankets, kundra beds, foster, ect.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We do our meet and greet and adoptions by appointment only.

Please call 270.847.9544 if you would like to schedule an appointment.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption process is quite simple. If you are interested in meeting or adopting one of our pets, please fill out an adoption application for review. After reviewing your application we will contact you and arrange a meet and greet with your potential new fur baby if your applications is approved. We have several of our pets in foster care so we have to work around foster mommy and daddies schedules.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Heaven Can Wait Animal Rescue, Inc.
is a non-profit organization dedicated to ending the senseless euthanasia of animals annually in Kentucky.
We strive to be a leader in education and awareness of the principles of responsible pet ownership. Through sterilization, rescue and rehabilitation programs we hope to make a difference in the lives of the shelter animals.

Our mission is to be a half way house where we can help house the animals while they are awaiting rescues, or their forever homes.

HCW and our volunteers are diligently working with the local shelters and the community to control the overpopulation and suffering of Feral Cats, House Cats, and Dogs by offering affordable spay and neuter programs.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sophie, a Russellville Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Russellville, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Russellville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Russellville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Russellville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Russellville paves the way for another one to be saved.
