Gizzy's Story...
Gizzy is a 2 year old male grey cockatiel, he is quite the character! He will follow you anywhere if you have a bottle of water. It is like a favorite toy to him and if you take it away or try to, he is more than happy to let you know he is not happy with that. He will come to you from anywhere if he hears you even pick up a bottle of water. A favorite spot for him to be is on your shoulder when you have your first sip of coffee in the morning! He likes his head scratches and is happy to let you know when he has had enough. He most enjoys toys he can chew on and string toys or toy with bell. He likes to hang out on his cage with his water bottle or on your lap or chair, especially if you have the bottle nearby. I get him back into his cage by bringing the bottle to it and he sleeps with the bottle on top of his cage, lol! Gizzy is not too fond of trying new foods but we are working on converting him to a healthy diet of pellets, with vegetables, some fruits and some quality seeds. He is young and loving and a lot of fun and is looking for his forever home. He is an absolute delight!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gizzy, a Tampa Cockatiel was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cockatiel for sale in Tampa, or seeking a Cockatiel from a breeder in Tampa.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Tampa already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Tampa breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cockatiel breeders who help with Cockatiel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Tampa paves the way for another one to be saved.
