Daquiri and Snowball's Info...
| Breed: | Cockatoo | Color: | White | Age: | Adult |
| Sex: | Female |
Daquiri and Snowball are a bonded pair of a male Mollucan Cockatoo (Daquiri) and a female Umbrella Cockatoo (Snowball). They are at least 30 years old and were wild caught. They are up-to-date on their veterinary requirements, have a clean bill of health and are fully feathered.
Daquiri and Snowball were rescued by two experienced parrot owners in January 2012. At that time they were terribly neglected, were on a seed and ritz cracker diet, in cages that they were in weren't even large enough for small parrots and the umbrella cockatoo had a broken wing and the other had been previously broken.
They will need an experienced owner who will be able to teach them to trust again. They seem to prefer women and women's voices.
Cockatoos live for approximately 60+ years.
They are currently in New Jersey and ready to meet with their future forever-people.

Rescue Group Info...
Wilton Parrot Rescue was founded in January 2010 in Wilton, Connecticut and is a small home-based rescue. Our goal is to find permanent loving homes for surrendered or rescued companion parrots. We work with a limited number of birds at a time to ensure individualized attention for each bird and greater adoption success. In our first year, we successfully placed and found forever homes for 25 birds.
Although we specialize in rehabilitating (if necessary) and re-homing larger parrots, all birds will be considered for surrender on a space available basis. Surrendered birds must have the potential to be re-homed as Wilton Parrot Rescue does not have the space or availability to take in sanctuary birds at this time. All birds coming into Wilton Parrot Rescue must have current medical records ensuring the bird is free of any contagious avian diseases.
Wilton Parrot Rescue welcomes volunteers and values competent foster homes. Given the demands of a rescue organization, monetary contributions in any amount and in-kind donations are greatly appreciated! OUR WISH LIST: • PAPER TOWELS • DISINFECTING WIPES • LARGE BLANKETS OR FLAT SHEETS • UNOPENED BAGS/CONTAINERS OF BIRD FOOD – ESPECIALLY HARRISON’S, ZUPREEM, ROUDYBUSH AND LEFEBER’S • TOYS AND JAVA OR MANZANITA PERCHES • CARRIERS AND CAGES, ANY SIZE IN USABLE CONDITION • SPONSOR A PARROT – ANY AMOUNT • VOLUNTEERS!! • FOSTER HOMES
