Pogo's Story...
Pogo is a three-year-old Beagle/Affenpinscher mix male who weighs about 20 pounds. Pogo came to foster care as a six-week-old puppy, very sick after being abandoned at a kill shelter in the city. We nursed him back to health and found him a wonderful home when he was ready. Sadly, three years later, his family had a change in circumstances and could no longer continue to care for Pogo. They knew we would do our best to again find the perfect home for Pogo, so he came back to his foster mom.

Pogo had a brief placement with a family with young kids and another dog. It turned out to be the wrong fit for him, so he is now looking for a quieter home, without little kids. Pogo is super smart and already well trained. He needs a human who knows how to be a pack leader and will take charge. If Pogo doesn't have a strong human leader, he feels it is his job to take care of his pack. Experienced dog owners understand that is not ideal for any dog and, for Pogo, it stresses him out to feel he has to be in charge. He would much rather be curled up, relaxed, on your couch or his dog bed or basking in a beam of sunshine from a window.

He is a wonderful, little dog and will reward you with his loyal companionship. Pogo is neutered and up to date on vaccines.
