IMPORTANT NOTES: The animals in this album are posted as a courtesy to help Bossier City Animal Control gain more exposure for the animals surrendered to their facility. These animals are urgent. Space is extremely limited and they do the best they can, but they cannot do it alone! This is a community problem and requires a community to help solve it.

PLEASE find it in your heart to adopt a pet in need. Remember, always spay/neuter to help reduce the exploding overpopulation problem and to help animal control facilities in this area reduce their euthanasia rates.

ADOPTION FEES (dogs): $55-$85 depending on breed, age, etc. Pure-bred or highly adoptable pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption. Others will come with spay/neuter voucher and it is a condition of adoption that you spay/neuter the pet immediately or when the pet comes of age.

Time is of the essence if you are looking to adopt a specific pet. While we do update this album regularly, visiting the facility will increase your odds of adopting your pet of interest.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BCAC Rat Terrier mix, a Haughton Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Haughton, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Haughton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Haughton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Haughton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Haughton paves the way for another one to be saved.
