My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hydee.  She is a 10 year old spayed female Dachshund, medium brownish/red short hair.  She weighs about 14 lbs.

Hydee is the sweetest, most loving Dachshund you will ever meet. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in LA just an hour from her scheduled PTS time. She was found as a stray and no one came for her. She gets along well with other dogs after she gets to know them.  She was a bit unsure of herself when she first arrived but quickly found her place and has not had a single problem since.  She is house trained, only barks when others bark or howl and is not food or toy aggressive.  Her favorite place is on the big bed with her person and she will sit in your lap and sleep quietly in front of the TV or while you are reading  She gives the sweetest most gentle kisses when she feels like it and will sit on her hind legs patiently when she wants or needs something (treats, water or to go outside).  She is very respective when it comes to her person eating and isn't demanding but watches to see if you will offer her something.

Hydee would do best in a home with no children (because of her age) and only one other dog (if any). At her foster home she is left alone during the day but has company of her foster fur siblings. If she is an only dog then she would need someone at home part of the day and not left alone for an 8 hour work day. She has not been cat tested, but does not show any interest in the birds at her foster home. If she finds a hole in the yard she knows there has to be something good in it or it wouldn't be there for her to explore. She loves the free run of the yard and comes when you call her.

Hydee's adoptio fee is only $125. If you are a senior that would like to give this senior a warm lap to settle in, we will give you a senor to senior discount that will bring her adoption fee to a mere $100.

Hydee is being fostered in Vista, CA (No. San Diego County-10 miles East of Oceanside). If Hydee sounds like the perfect Dachshund for you, please contact Carol at cbhdfc@gmail.com
