Honey's Story...
Honey was found abandoned in an apartment in Cobourg. Honey was very scared when she first came in but after a couple weeks she came around to be a lovely sociable cat. When the staff here are cleaning her cage she likes to take the hand broom and crew on the bristles and carry it away with her, she is a bit nervous to roam around outside of her cage but she seems to be okay with the other cats around her. She loves to give kisses but beware opening your mouth around her, she likes to stick her head in your mouth, so you can't sweet talk her when you're cleaning her cage or you get a lovely surprise! She has come around to be quiet the lovely affectionate cat!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Honey, a Port Hope Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Port Hope, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Port Hope.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Port Hope already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Port Hope breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Port Hope paves the way for another one to be saved.
