Sparky's Story...
**SPECIAL THANKS TO A DBC ANGEL FOR SPONSORING SPARKY WHILE HE IS IN OUR PROGRAM**

Sparky is a white and black American Pit Bull Terrier approximately 3 years old, weighing 45-50 pounds. Sparky was rescued by Engine 23 of the Detroit Fire Department who called us for help. Sparky came to DBC with his skin very red from mange and his body thin from being on the streets. Sparky has since fully recovered from his mange and has put on lots of muscle. He knows his basic commands (sit, stay, come, etc.), walks nicely on the leash, and is crated trained. Sparky loves to play fetch and will "drop it" on command. He is very energetic and playful. An all around awesome canine. Sparky gets along with other dogs, but should go to a home without cats.

If you would like to meet Sparky, please fill out the pre-adoption application at www.dbcdogs.org

Adoption fee: $250 includes Micro-chipping, Crate, Vaccinations, Rabies Certificate, Spay/Neuter, Heartworm Free, and 12 Months of Training after the adoption is complete.

About Detroit Bully Corps

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Mission
The foundation of our program is "Education". Without education on spay/neuter, breed specific legislation (BSL), training, breed specific workshops, the dog fighting culture & responsible ownership... the epidemic will never end. Rescue is a mere bandage in the overall scale of the canine epidemic. Shelters are overrun, rescues are overflowing & society is in need of education. For every 1 spot we fill, we turn away 50... We average 20-25 rescue canines at any given time. Also take into consideration we deal primarily with one breed, the American Pit Bull Terrier. The American Pit Bull Terrier comprises 90% of our rescue population. We work with canines from any & every background, whether it be a surrendered family pet, bait dogs, seasoned fighters & the abused. We are a no-kill rescue/rehabilitation. We will not euthanize a canine that meets an adoptable standard. We as a moral, ethical & objective organization will NOT adopt out a canine that is a threat to society. We are advocates of the American Pit Bull Terrier, as such we will not add to the epidemic by being irresponsible. Our approach to rescue & rehabilitation is proactive. We at Detroit Bully Corps are not just trying to rehabilitate individual canines. We are also trying to do our part to rehabilitate the overall integrity of the American Pit Bull Terrier strain of canine. Our ultimate goal is to see the American Pit bull Terrier rise above the negative stigma & once again be the “All American Dog”…
