Vito's Story...
Vito is a beautiful American Pitbull Terrier and is approximately 2 years old. He is a gentle soul. He came to us from Flint along with his mom, Courage and sibling, Molly in June of 2011. Vito came to us scarred, emaciated, mangy and heartworm positive, from his abuse. He has since completed medical treatment, is heartworm negative and has grown into an Amazing canine. Vito loves to work and loves to cuddle. He is a very active, comical and person oriented canine. He has been child tested (5&Up). No cats please. He would make a great addition to a motivated family.

About Our Rescue Group...
The Mission
The foundation of our program is "Education". Without education on spay/neuter, breed specific legislation ( BSL ), training, breed specific workshops, the dog fighting culture & responsible ownership... the epidemic will never end. Rescue is a mere bandage in the overall scale of the canine epidemic. Shelters are over run, rescues are overflowing & society is in need of education. For every 1 spot we fill, we turn away 50... We average 15-20 rescue canines at any given time. Also take into consideration we deal primarily with 1 breed, The American Pit Bull Terrier. The American Pit Bull Terrier comprises 90% of our rescue population. We work with canines from any & every background, whether it be a surrendered family pet, Bait dogs, seasoned fighters & the abused. We are a no-kill rescue/rehabilitation. ( No-Kill , we will not euthanize a canine that meets an adptable standard) We as a moral, ethical & objective organization will NOT adopt out a canine that is a threat to society. We are advocates of the American Pit Bull Terrier, as such we will not add to the epidemic by being irresponsible.
Our Approach to rescue & rehabilitation is proactive
We at Detroit Bully Corps are not just trying to rehabilitate individual canines. We are also trying to do our part to rehabilitate the overall integrity of the American Pit Bull Terrier strain of canine. Our ultimate goal is to see the American Pit bull Terrier rise above the negative stigma & once again be the “All American Dog”…
