Spike's Story...
INITIAL BIO 12-16-2012: MEET SPIKE! He is 6 years old and weighs a sturdy 12 lbs; Spike is being fostered in Spring Hill, FL. Here's what Spike had to say about himself:

Hi all! My name is Spike and my FM says since I’m the new kid in town I should tell everyone a little something about myself, so here it goes…I’m a handsome male yorkie. I grew up in a loving home where I got ALL the attention, but then a little human baby came along. There wasn’t as much time for me anymore, so my owners decided to surrender me to UYR to find me a new forever home. I’ve only been with FM a day, but she says I’m a REALLY good little boy so far! I did great in the car, get along well with my new foster fur-siblings, and walk on a leash like a champ! I did have back surgery when I was little, but you surely wouldn’t know if you saw me run & jump now! Plus, the vet says not to worry, I had an excellent and full recovery! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to play!!! Chasing a ball is my favorite, and I could do it all day! FM says I even do a cute trick with my nose to push the ball back so she will throw it again! I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations, neutered, housetrained, and have pearly-white teeth! FM says I’m the total package! So, if you are looking to add a handsome little boy to your family, maybe my forever home is with you???

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spike, a Spring Hill Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Spring Hill, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Spring Hill.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Spring Hill already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Spring Hill breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Spring Hill paves the way for another one to be saved.
