About Our Rescue Group...
Paws South Florida Rescue is a Ft.Lauderdale based all-volunteer animal welfare group that works to help eliminate the cycle of over-population of the cat species. Our mission is to practice the best principles of TNR (trapping, neutering and return) within our feral cat communities. We adhere to the guidelines of Alley Cat Allies while also rescuing all adoptable adult cats or kittens we find and placing them in our foster care network where they are held without exception until adoption.

Our Adoption Process...
All of our kitties live in our homes. We believe this is a much better choice for you as these cats will not have had the experience of living in cages within a shelter. They are allowed to roam freely within our homes, learning to mix and socialize with people on a daily basis as we go about our lives.

Every cat and kitten in our care is up-to-date with all of their shots. They have been tested, treated for any conditions they might have had, including parasites and are spayed or neutered. Without exception.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Marmaduke, a Ft. Lauderdale Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Ft. Lauderdale, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Ft. Lauderdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ft. Lauderdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ft. Lauderdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ft. Lauderdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
