My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Female Looking for Forever Home

My name is Lucille, but you can call me Lucy. I am an eight-year old mini schnauzer looking for her forever family. I spent most of my life in a wire crate, so as you can imagine, I’ve had some adjustments to make. In my foster home I’ve learned to potty outside and that I can lie down in my bed, on the carpet, or in my crate. There are other dogs, too. One is another foster with the same background as me. Sometimes we’ll cuddle up in the same bed and take a nap. Another is a puppy, and boy has he got energy! He tries really hard, and sometimes I do allow him to play with me. In their own way, each is helping teach me how to be a real dog. The humans in the house are great, too! They give me attention when I want it and leave me be when I want to do some thinking. I’m still a little shy, but I am slowly coming out of my shell.

I’ll be going to the doctor in a couple of weeks to have my teeth cleaned. I’ve never had that done before, so I’m a little nervous, but the other foster just had hers done and she said it wasn’t all that bad (and that she feels TONS better!).

I look forward to what the future holds for me. If you think you might have room in your home and heart for me, then it's time for you to make the first move.

Lucille was just transferred to us after she was dumped with four other minis in a shelter by the breeder. She is around 8 yrs old which means she was of no use to the breeder anymore. Lucille is a sweet but reserved little mini. She is silver and a nice small girl. Her teeth are in HORRIBLE condition and will be cleaned. She has been spayed, brought current on shots and moved to a foster home for further assessment. As we get to know Lucille better, we will update her profile.
