Perdie's Story...

Could this be your new best friend?

5/29/2013 - Often I drive up to 19th St. for a quick bite for lunch and take a dog with me. On a whim I decided to take Perdie. This girl intrigues me because I hear the staff say wonderful things about her but all I ever get from her is jumping and barking. I figured there was something about her that I was missing. Well, right out the door she began pulling and following a trail like a Hound of the Baskervilles. I began to wonder if this was a bad idea. Things changed when I got her in the car. (The back seat seemed like the best choice for this rowdy one.) I laid a blanket down and told her to sit. Perdie must have been on car rides before because she rode like a dream. Of course she nuzzled her nose between the bucket seats to see if I'd let her up front but didn't become obnoxious when I didn't. She was polite while I ordered my food at the drive thru window but was getting curious about the smells coming from the window. Her enthusiasm was getting the best of her while I scarfed my sandwich but she was never pushy. As for the french fries, she may or may not have found a fry I may or may not have dropped. I will add that Perdie will always find the french fry that you acidentally dropped. -Angela

About Fuzzy Friends Rescue

About Our Shelter...

Fuzzy Friends Rescue believes that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for the animals. Our mission is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need. We want to instill in our community an awareness of the animals whose world we share; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership.

Fuzzy Friends Rescue is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization that cares for homeless and unwanted animals in a life-care environment. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another, and we care for all those we take in until they are adopted.

We try to place these animals in new homes with caring families as soon as possible. Some stay at Fuzzy Friends Rescue only a matter of days or weeks, but sometimes it takes months of care and rehabilitation before they are able to go to a new home. In some cases for those harder- to- place animals, their stay may be a year or more. Unless they have developed an incurable disease or they are aggressive they have a home at Fuzzy Friends Rescue until they can be found a permanent, loving home.

Our Adoption Process...

DOGS/PUPPIES:
- fees vary (see animal's description for his/her adoption fees

CATS/KITTENS:
- Cats and Kittens - $110
- Cats (5 years and up) - $55

ALL adoption fees include: any vaccinations that are given from incoming date to adoption date, heartworm test on dogs over 6 months old, Feline Leukemia Test/FIV test on all cats and kittens, spay or neuter surgery, microchip and microchip registration and any other medical procedure performed prior to adoption. (Such as heartworm treatment, de-worming etc.)

IN ORDER TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL, you must:
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have legal identification with your current address
• Be able to verify that you can have a pet where
you live if you rent or proof that you own your home.

After your complete an adoption application, it is sent to our review board, this process takes about 24 – 48 hours. If approved, you will be asked to come back to the facility to complete the formal adoption process.
Understand that FUZZY FRIENDS RESCUE reserves the right to deny an adoption for any reason.

No animal is more valuable than any other. The difference in fees is to help us cover the expense of caring for the younger animals since they require more vaccinations and medical expense than a lot of the adult animals. Also, the older animals are often over looked and the reduction in their fee will hopefully help place them in homes so they can live out their retirement years being loved in a home environment.
