Tansy's Story...
If you are interested in viewing or adopting these kitties, please go to www.orphankittenrescue.com/adopt and fill out an application.

Tansy is a very shy cat. After two months with us, she has learned that a hand reaching out toward her doesn’t mean that she is going to be grabbed. She now enjoys back, chin and cheek scratches, purrs up a storm, and she will head-butt to ask for more. She is learning to come when called but she will always assess the situation first to make sure it’s safe. And she feels reassured if her brother Sage is around. When she can’t find him, she will "chirp" softly for him to come out.

Tansy can be very playful once she knows you and feels secure. Her favorite toy is the cat dancer wand. She also loves to wrestle with her brother and to play hide and seek with him.

Tansy has met our two dogs on occasion. However, she will only venture outside her safe zone (the spare room) when the dogs are not around. She would do well in a quiet and calm environment with no kids or other cats.

Please view the video to see how affectionate Tansy can be once she trusts you. She has tons of potential, but she needs a special human companion who is loving, understanding and patient. I believe that she will be strongly attached to her person and make a loving life-long companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tansy, a Vancouver Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
