Ruff Ruff! My name is Noel

We were recenty alerted to a family of dogs living at a DART station...

When we arrived, we saw a Mama Dog, a Papa Dog, and two small pups running across a busy street and several DART buses trying to avoid them. We spoke with the gas station owner across the street and he said there were originally 6 puppies and that they have been trying to get help for these dogs for months. Two different bus drivers stopped to thank us for getting the dogs, as they have been watching them grow up and narrowly escape a terrible death by car or bus.

We watched car after car almost hit them, not even stopping to slow down. Although we didn't have a foster in place, we could not leave the little pups there. They obviously had no street skills and were in danger.

We first tried with a net, but these pups were not having it. Daddy seemed very interested, and then promptly peed on our net.

Then we set up the trap. Daddy tried to go in, so we closed it because we knew we could not take Daddy without a foster. When he saw he couldn't get to the food inside, he marked our trap as well.

Then May arrived with some really great smelling bait so we fed the Mama and Daddy away from the trap, and after they ate, they ran off into the night, leaving the pups alone. Another reason we had to help them.

We set up the trap again and could not believe our eyes with both pups went inside the trap and set it off, trapping them both inside! We were so worried if we got one, the other one would run away into traffic again.  We have named the puppies Holly and Noel. They have been treated for mange and are making great progress in their foster home and are now playful and happy!
