Freddie is about 4-5 yrs old, 50 pounds his breed is a mistery but he has some sort of Sheepdog in him we think
He's mellow and easy and has not had the best life
The person that found him in her yard on Thanksgiving can only report good things however he gets timid with men and will bark at them unless you give him lots of treats
His eyes show that he has not had the love he needed and is ready to get that now
his coat has missing fur that has been growing back (Vet thinks bad diet)
he has now good food and love
lives with 4 kids, a few small dogs and cats but we think he be fine as only dog living with a single woman or a couple that are dog loving dog whisperers in the country or quiet neighborhood
he would prefer being the only dog or a quiet calm fem dog his size
He does not like it when people fight or roughhouse together and will split them up by barking
He's a quiet dog looking for same looking for love and a stable family
If another dog must be mellow like he is and his size prefer female
he lives with cats now and fine so as long as you have a dog savvy cat and experience in introducing and training both to live in peace together there will be no problem
Looking for someone home during the day or most the day
see below info from caretaker that found him
We found Freddie the day before Thanksgiving. He is very sweet and loving boy. He is approx. 4-5 years old and has a micro chip but no updated info on it.
He has been with me for a while now and I haven't seen any bad behaviors (but going after my small dogs at times)from him. I do have four small children and a lot of animals and I feel that he would be best in a home without lots of people. He doesn't like confrontation and is very protective over me since I'm his angel that saved him and he most likely never had a good life like he has now
I think that he would be great for a single woman or a couple without little children or with only one older child. You can not play fight around Fred (as described above).
He loves to play with toys and he will fetch and bring it right back for you to throw it again, but he will also tear open the toys to pull out the squeakers unless you watch him, you can teach him not to do that unless you don't mind
Fred is a little uneasy about meeting new people but he loves treats and that is the way to his heart and will win him over
He knows all the basic commands and is potty trained. Overall very well behaved dog
