My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rueger. Rueger is a 5-year-old red and white purebred Border Collie who is as sweet as they come. A little over 3 years ago Rueger fell on hard times and was taken in as a foster by a rancher in Leona Valley who also happens to be a very well known sheepdog trainer. Rueger received a couple months of sheepdog training before he found a home where he has lived for the past 3 years. The family that adopted him had to return him due to circumstances beyond their control. Now Rueger is looking for his FOREVER home. He is a VERY active dog that would make a good sheepdog, or possibly an agility dog. Rueger loves people and kids of all ages, is up to date on vaccinations, and is micro-chipped. Rueger needs to be placed in a home with some acreage; he would not do well in the city. Also, unless you plan on working him as a sheepdog he needs to be placed in a home without livestock (including horses). For Rueger to be successful in his new home his owners must be willing to continue his training and provide plenty of activity, and you MUST be dedicated to providing him with a FOREVER home. He has been bounced around a lot for a young dog and deserves a home to call his own. If you are interested in Rueger please fill out an online application with Border Collies In Need.
