Willie's Story...
WILLIE
I am a 3 year old male Shih-Tzu, as cute as a button and although I am blind in one eye, that doesn’t stop me from keeping up with the best of them!
I was picked up on the streets of Miami as a stray dog. Thank goodness they didn’t take me to the High Kill Shelter. Instead I was taken in by a woman who contacted Rescue in New York. She did try to find my owners before I was put on transport with the other dogs who headed north to find their forever homes.
I am one friendly guy who love, love, loves people and other dogs! Cat’s don’t bother me at all! I get very attached to the human kind and love to be cuddled and loved. I would do best in a home where there is someone home a good part of the day, or with someone who might take me out with them. If there is another dog in the house with me, then I probably wouldn’t mind staying alone with them.
I am Neutered & UPD on all of my shots. I am on Heart Worm and Flea and Tick preventative. I am also microchipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Willie, a New Windsor Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in New Windsor, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in New Windsor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Windsor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Windsor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Windsor paves the way for another one to be saved.
