My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mister!

Meet Mister, the energetic mix bred dog that wants nothing more then your attention. This beautiful blue eyed boy just bursts with energy, Sometimes it's so much he'll run laps around the yard for the sake of running, and he is always up for a jog or a good game of fetch. What can you expect? He may be a big dog, but he is still very much a puppy! Because of his love for running and his body shape, we suspect he is a greyhound/husky mix. However, unlike most dogs with such energy, getting his attention is a relatively easy task, and he'll come to you when you call him and sit when you tell him, no matter how close he was to winning the battle against his squeaky toys, no matter how much fun he was having playing tug-of-war with the other dog. It seems the only thing he enjoys better then running is keeping the people around him happy.

Mister is a very well behaved dog. Even though his tall size means he could easily climb onto counters, or knock people over, should he ever wish, he simply doesn't. The only time this big boy jumps up is if he is commanded to stand or "touch" your palm. Other wise, he'll be keeping all four feet on the ground. He does great on walks, and is even learning to heel. Every once in a while, though, he get's distracted and tries to follow a bird, or starts trying to play in the deeper snow but these moments are usually short lived. Furthermore, he is not one for barking, unless he thinks it'll get you to open the door to go outside faster. He also minds his manners around other dogs and cats, though he sometimes forget's about polite introductions and tries to jump right into playing, and can sometimes be a little too much for his older foster brother. He was initially interested in his foster mom's cat, but quickly learned that the cat does not like playing with dogs, or even being sniffed by one, and after just two days, Mister finally gave up trying to play with her.

Mister is currently learning some new tricks to help curb his energy while in foster care so he will be even more well-behaved when he gets adopted. So far he knows sit, down, stay, heel (he is really good inside, but he's still learning to listen to heel outside as well), "touch", and shake. He is currently trying to learn "back up", "stand", and "crawl", and he has pretty much gotten these easier tricks down in only a couple of days. I have a feeling he'll learn more energetic tricks such as jumping and rolling over even quicker. Mister will do best in a house with other young dogs and a lot of room for him to stretch his legs.. He'll probably be happiest if he is surrounded by many people as well.
