Keyush's Story...
Keyush, key-oosh, means bear cub in Eskimo. This boy is a teddy bear for sure. He is 14 months old and weighs in over 110 pounds. He is a Pyrenees/flat coated retriever mix neutered male with his double dew claws removed. Males of his breed can top out at 150 pounds. He is growing in that direction. Keyush originally came to FARR in May of 2012 as an 8 wk old baby. He was pulled from a kill shelter and found his new family. Due to NO fault of his own, he had to be surrendered due to a divorce. He is now ready to find his furever home. He is completely housebroken and will even bark yes if you ask him if he wants to go outside. He is crate trained, loves to play ball, chase lizards, and splash in a kiddy pool. He loves showers and will walk right in when you tell him to take a shower. He gets along great with kids and is playing sweetly with his foster moms dogs. He is interested in the cats, but only to check them out. He loves to go for walks and is learning to heal. He is up to date on all shots and is currently on monthly Trifexis heartworm prevention. He knows how to sit and lay down, but is having a little trouble with stay. Keyush has some guarding issues with toys when he's laying down, so will need a particular home that is aware of and can work with him as his foster mom has. She has no issues with him currently, but the last adoptive home did. His adoption fee is $150.
If you are interested in adopting, please email your contact information to AdoptFromFARR@yahoo.com with Keyush in the subject line. He is currently fostered in Palm Harbor. FARR places our rescue pups in personal foster homes throughout Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Pacso Counties. FARR – Florida Retriever Rescue is a 501c3 NonProfit group composed totally of volunteers working to save the lives of neglected and unwanted dogs. The adoption fee helps to cover the first 2 shots, Dewormer, and neuter or spay fees, as well as a rabies shot, if the dog is over 4months at time of adoption, and a heartworm test, if the dog is over 6months at time of adoption, as well as any transport or pull fees FARR may have paid to the shelter for our rescues. All funds taken in are used strictly for the care and health of our rescues. You can also check out our other available rescue dogs and puppies currently fostered around the Tampa Bay area by visiting FARR Adopt-A-Pet http://www.adoptapet.com/adoption_rescue/75598.html or FARR Pet Finder http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/FL466.html Thank you for your interest in a rescue dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Keyush, a Largo Great Pyrenees dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Pyrenees for sale in Largo, or seeking a Great Pyrenees dog from a breeder in Largo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Largo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Largo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Pyrenees breeders who help with Great Pyrenees rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Largo paves the way for another one to be saved.
