James's Story...
Meet James! James is a stunning 59 lb 3 year old pit mix. James found himself on death row, and is now in need of a foster or adopter. He likes other dogs, but does not like to share his food, toys or rawhides. James would do best in a home with children over 10. A volunteer writes: James is so handsome and elegant that I wouldn't have been surprised if he casually announced, "Bond, James Bond." Indeed, this gorgeous hunk of dog wears a beautiful coat of smoldering grey, strides smartly on the leash, and passes the multitude of dogs we encounter at the park with ease. And when he glances up with his smokey eyes, one needs a heart made of stone not to go weak in the knees. Yet, James is not all about dazzle as there's an engaging vulnerability when he seeks reassuring hugs and kisses. In fact, as we cuddle, he wags his tail so hard that he smacks himself in the head! He also likes toys, which he either retrieves and drops promptly at my feet or keeps a few moments for a satisfying chew. And, it's quite cute to watch him wag his tail in greeting when a small dog stops by his playpen. James joined us as a stray but his well-groomed appearance and perfect weight suggest that he was a well-cared for pet; he also appears to be housetrained and takes treats gently from my hand. So come meet James today. Don't be surprised, however, if he prefers his water to be "shaken, not stirred!" If you can foster or adopt our sweet James please submit an application here :

Why Adoption is a Great Option

James, a Whitestone Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Whitestone, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Whitestone.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Whitestone already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Whitestone breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Whitestone paves the way for another one to be saved.
