Hope's Story...
Hope was a first time mother this fall. She is probably about 8 months old now. She had five tiny kittens. She wasn't particularly interested in them at first but had a neighboring momma cat who took them all under her wing and they survived. Her kittens are now all placed, but darling Hope needs a home too. She was deserted outside of Hope Chapel in downtown Akron and a kind person brought them all to us. (14 cats/ kittens in all!)

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We love cats - of all sizes, colors and shapes. We are very distraut about the number of animals destroyed each year because people have failed to spay/neuter their animals. We do not support or encourage breeding or "pure bred" animals of any kind. Breeding causes the production of extra animals who do not always find homes and makes it harder for millions of mix breed animals to find homes. We think people who have the resources to own an animal should be responsible for care and neutering of their pets. Educating the public is an important part of our adoption process.
Donate to Our Rescue Group...
We have no formal method of accepting donations. Most donations come from people whom we help by taking in cats they find. We can always use carriers, KMR (kitten milk replacer), and money!
Come Meet Our Pets...
Most of our adoptions are from on-line contacts and the paperwork is completed at stores or in the homes of our fosters. We try to return calls and contacts as quickly as possible and arrange times at your convenience to come meet our available animals. Email is a good way to contact us. Hope to hear from you soon!
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption Contract
Only adults can adopt. If the person adopting rents their domicile, we need assurances that they are allowed to have a pet and are aware of any additional costs or deposits required. We do not allow cats to be adopted as a gift - except by a spouse for a spouse.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hope, a Richfield Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richfield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
