Lizzie's Story...
Lizzie was dumped at a farm pregnant and no where to go. She had four pups, nursed them as they lived under a boat trailer. Took the best care of them as she could. They are now in rescue with Lizzie. We never leave a mama behind. Lizzie will be spayed and the cycle of her giving birth to pups has stopped. SHe will now be a responsible member of the canine community. She is sweet as pie! Really thankful that she has been rescued off the dirt floors of the farm. Email adopt@thisisthedog.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lizzie, a Homestead Wirehaired Fox Terrier/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wirehaired Fox Terrier/Shih Tzu for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Wirehaired Fox Terrier/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wirehaired Fox Terrier/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Wirehaired Fox Terrier/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
