TRISTEN's Story...

MEET TRISTEN....a precious, gold/white, 11 lb, petite and compact, 6 yr old Shih Tzu. By the way he acts, we never would have guessed this dog to be a mature little man, but our vet thinks so, so we'll go with his determination! Tristen has had a rough time of it...but between LHH and his first foster, Missy Rose, this boy could do nothing but be a champ! He came from the shelter with a terrible penis infection, emaciated and lethargic. A month with Missy and he was good to go! We noticed he was walking a little odd and had Xrays done....and sure enough, he had hip dysphasia So he had surgery on 12/4 and he is expected to make a full recovery! In the beginning of April, he had to have a second surgery on the OTHER leg....and now, he will not be available for adoption until May 5. Tristen can usually be found strutting around with a toy in his mouth! He is a total sweetheart, loves everyone and will be a wonderful companion to a single person, a family, empty nesters, just about anyone! As long as he has someone to play with -- he's good to go. We will say that he does like to cuddle with his canine companions, so another little guy or girl would be his heart's desire. He does have good energy than most 6 yr old dogs, but he does have a calm, spirit....but someone who can play with him would be great! He loves his walks, seems to be potty trained and truly is a very special little guy. Does Tristen sound like the son for you?? He will be available on May 5.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

TRISTEN, a Los Angeles Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
