Shrek's Story...
5 to 7 month old Shrek already weighs 92 pounds, so is going to be a big boy when he grows up! He is a very playful and loving puppy that enjoys playing chase and tug-o-war with other dogs and getting tummy rubs. He gets along great with kids, but in his puppy enthusiasm may send smaller kids flying! He is working on his inside manners and is a very quick and eager learner. He does not like for people to wear hats and will bark at anyone wearing a hat and act like a tough guy, so his foster family is trying to desensitize him to this and teach him that good guys wear hats too. If you would like to meet Shrek (without your hat!), please fill out and submit an adoption application from our web site at www.sunnysaints.org and you will be contacted shortly.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shrek, a Bellflower St. Bernard puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a St. Bernard puppy from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
