Gabriella's Story...
This lovely little tuxedo is a sweet little girl so eager to spend time with her foster mommy that she is first to bed, first on the pillow, and first under the covers. Gabriella has lots of charm and loves companionship. She’ll snuggle tight and make biscuits wherever she can touch you. She is very tactile and demonstrative in her love.

She also has a genetic defect in one eyelid that makes her one eye weep when it gets irritated by the tiny eye lashes that sometimes roll under and against her eyeball. But for her, this is normal. For her human, it would take a few seconds to drop eye drops onto her eye on those days when it looks a little irritated.

But one thing that can be said for Gabriella is that she makes up for this little inconvenience with a boatload of love. She is certainly a favorite in her foster home and is a super loveable companion kitty.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gabriella, a The Colony Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in The Colony, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in The Colony.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in The Colony already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a The Colony breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in The Colony paves the way for another one to be saved.
