My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone, my name is Sassy.
I am a pretty, energetic 8 month old lab girl.

I am so happy to be safe with my new foster home but I am also very scared.
My foster mom thinks I may have been abused but I'm not ready to talk about what happened to me just yet.

I love my foster sisters and brothers (both real and fur kids) and I even like the little furry cat things here at this new house.
Sometimes when my foster mom or dad reprimands me I get so scared I poop.
I don't mean to I just can't help it. This house is really a great place to be but I can't stay forever.
My foster mom thinks I would be great in a home with older kids (especially girls) and a mommy or daddy that can spend a lot of time showing me that I am loved.

A note from Sassy's foster mom:
Sassy is such a sweet and loving dog, but she is scared to death of just about everything.
She does great with kids and other pets but is afraid of most adults, cars, shadows..... you get the picture. I am trying my best to help her out of her shell but I fear her road to recovery may be a long one. She is in need of a foster home with MUCH experience healing broken and abused hearts or else a compassionate, patient home with older children or possibly a single couple. This is not something she will find in Alamogordo as our forever homes often turn out to be anything but. Sassy want's so bad to be loved and to be able to love in return. She is still at the point where she expects a smack in the head or a kick to the ribs as much as a soft pet or a hug. She does much better with females than males and has only ever seemed calm or relaxed with my daughters (ages 14, 9 and 3). She loves other dogs and would do best with a friend but it's not a requirement. Sassy is utd on shots and is kennel trained. She is terrified of kennels though. This girl deserves so much better than what she has known in her short little life. If there is any way you can help Sassy please let us know ASAP.
Thank you
Judith P.
