Hero is a delightful dog who had a stroke of very bad luck. His devoted owner was forced to move into housing which doesn’t allow animals so had to surrender Hero to the animal shelter. Hero is quite comfortable being handled and interacting with volunteers so it appears he has been well-socialized which is great to see. Out on his walks in the park he is quite easy to manage. Hero is keen to sniff and explore the surroundings but will trot along companionably if you pick up the pace. At around two years of age Hero is no longer a hyper young pup though sometimes he exhibits a burst of glee to be free of his kennel and he’ll want to play tug-of-war with the leash. Silly pooch! He is easily corrected though and will sit for a treat on command or deftly catch it in his mouth if you toss it to him. We really like this big goofy pooch and hope that Hero will soon find another home of his own.
