This gorgeous girl is Estes, an 8 year old female terrier/hound mix. Estes was surrendered to us because unfortunately her owner became homeless, and he could no longer care for Estes and her feline friend. He was absolutely devastated to have to give them up and it's obvious that they were loved and well-cared for. Estes is beautiful, and she is extremely gentle and loving. She is a bit timid when she meets new people but she warms up quickly. She's very easy going and extremely well behaved. She walks nicely on a leash and has great manners. Estes gets along well with cats but would prefer a home with no other dogs. Please consider giving this pretty girl the great home that she is dreaming of. 3/17/12 File#21367

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Our animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.
We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City. We take in animals in need from all of the country.
