Buck is a young, male, pure-bred German Short-haired Pointer in desperate need of a new home fast. His owner is age 80 and Buck has become too much for this elderly man to handle. Buck was born around April 2011. He should flourish in a home whereby an average dog’s need for attention and exercise can be met, unlike his current home situation. Buck walks fine on a leash but still pulls. This can be easily remedied with use of a prong (pinch) collar. Using a pinch collar is wise as it also preserves the dog’s neck and spine, while preventing the dog from pulling. Buck has been socialized with other dogs and he is fine with other dogs. He is not best suited in a home with a cat. He is people-oriented and very friendly to children.

Buck is neutered and weighs about 60 pounds. He is fully vaccinated and documentation can be provided. He is a very happy dog that just needs more room to romp and play. He is full of energy, and comes when he is called. He is crate-trained, and has had obedience training though he can benefit from a refresher. If you are interested in Buck, please contact Marilyn at: 714-970-5049 or e-mail her at: marilynfaith@msn.com. Buck is in the Lake Isabella area but transport to the local area of Orange County is up for discussion to serious potential adopters.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buck, a Bellflower German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Bellflower, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Bellflower.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellflower already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellflower breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellflower paves the way for another one to be saved.
