Carter's Story...
Meet Carter! He is 2yrs old, weighs 60-70lbs and is a tad on the skinny side - he needs to bulk up a bit! If you have a ball he’s in heaven and thoroughly enjoys a good chew toy. Carter is the prototypical lap dog - he just wants to be loved and be by your side. His dream is to be your companion. Carter is an absolute sweetheart and is in search of his forever home. The look he’ll give you will make you melt and when he’s truly happy his butt wiggles from side to side. He is just a bundle of joy and will brighten up any home. Carter is housebroken, good with other dogs and is gentle around children. He knows "sit" and walks decent on a leash, though will benefit from some basic manners training. Carter is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, and micro-chipped. He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative. If you think Carter would be a perfect addition to your family, please fill out our online application and indicate Carter in the notes section

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Carter, a Salem Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
