Ernest's Story...
Ernest is a big, confidant, handsome brown tabby. He was rescued from Animal Services by Befriended Felines. He was listed as "Fearful". In the pound setting he definitely was. When he came to his foster home setting he shared a kennel with two kittens. There he showed his true nature, grooming the kittens and letting them groom and climb on him. Ernest has been in a foster home with dogs and other cats and is perfectly at home. He will want to be the boss but he does this with his presence and not with aggressive behavior. He rolls on his back and loves his belly rubbed. He is very smart, alert and nothing gets by him, especially moving targets like mice. He bonds quickly with his humans and is unaware of how impressive he is. He can be a couch potato when he decides he has no more tasks to complete. If he had opposable thumbs he would be an excellent Handy Man. Ernest is waiting for his forever home now.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernest, a San Luis Obispo Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in San Luis Obispo, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in San Luis Obispo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Luis Obispo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Luis Obispo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Luis Obispo paves the way for another one to be saved.
