Mazzy's Info...

Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg) Sex: Male
Mazzy's Story...
Mazzy is a happy, playful girl who loves everyone she meets. Her approximate birth date is December 2011. She was an owner surrender to the SLA shelter for normal puppy behavior - quite unfair for sweet dog who just needed a little consistency and guidance. She quickly became a favorite at SLA where received tons of attention and love from the volunteers and staff.

Now with ACPB, we have learned that Mazzy loves other dogs (AND with kids!), is quite relaxed in busy situations and truly enjoys training. She a beautiful, tall, and leggy blue fawn - a canine super-model. Mazzy is also quite athletic and we expect that she would make a fantastic running or hiking partner. She is medium to high energy, and loves to do butt-tuck zoomies around the yard every chance she gets. Once her playtime is over, Mazzy is quite calm and enjoys long naps. She is learning to walk nicely on leash, loves her crate, and is happy to chill at home after having fun with other dogs or people.

Mazzy currently weighs about 55 lbs and will probably gain 5-10 lbs as she matures. She is around 1 year old, up-to-date on routine shots, microchipped, crate-trained, and is learning her basic manners.

About Our Rescue Group...
Mission: Angel City Pit Bulls is creating a better future for pit bulls by promoting their positive image as loving family companions through education, public advocacy, adoptions and responsible pet ownership.

Goal: To reduce the number of pit bull terrier type dogs in animal shelters by increasing adoptions, providing community education to increase owner retention, and participating in targeted spay/neuter programs. As a member of the NKLA Coalition, it is our goal to be an integral part of making Los Angeles no-kill.

History: Angel City Pit Bulls is a 501c3 non-profit organization founded in 2010 to address the problem of overpopulation and high euthanasia rate of pit bull terrier type dogs in Los Angeles area shelters. ACPB continues to evolve through the efforts of dedicated pit bull owners, educators, rescuers, and supporters working together to respond to the challenges facing pit bulls in our community.

Our Adoption Process...
Angel City Pit Bulls has dogs that fall under the generic term 'pit bull' who demonstrate stable, fun, people-oriented, outgoing personalities- making them fantastic family dogs. We have a wide range of energy levels, so whether you are looking for a running partner or a potential “therapy dog”, we will typically have a dog that will fit the bill.

Our goal is to provide adopters with the best possible adopter-dog match and we will work with you to find a dog that is right for your situation. Most of the ACPB dogs live in multi-dog foster homes, and enjoy the company of other well-matched dogs and some even with well-matched cats. We are happy to assist with family pet introductions.

To get started, we will ask that you to fill out a brief questionnaire and we'll set up a meet and greet for the dog(s) you are interested in. When you are ready to move forward with the adoption, we will arrange a home delivery to help you get settled in with the newest member of your family.

Resources, support, and education are always available, and you can expect an extensive level of knowledge and support from ACPB for the lifetime of your dog.

We ask for an adoption donation of $200 for dogs over 6 months old, and $300 for a puppy under 6 months old. This non-taxdeductible contribution assists us in continuing our mission to help more dogs in need.
