Rudolph's Story...
IDGSR WELCOMES RUDOLPH INTO THE SAFETY OF THE RESCUE!

Rudolph was pulled from a high-kill shelter after being picked up as a stray. No one came to claim him, but IDGSR was able to keep him safe. He is very friendly with people and is doing well with other dogs, but initial testing indicates he is NOT cat friendly.

More information and pictures will be updated once his evaluation is complete.

If this handsome boy looks like he belongs with your family, please file an application.

Each dog's adoption donation varies depending on the age of the dog.

$300 for any dog 1 year and younger (BABY)

$250 for any dog 1-3 years (YOUNG)

$200 for any dog 3-7 years (ADULT)

$150 for dogs over 7 (SENIOR)

All our adoptable dogs are up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing & monthly preventative and have been spayed or neutered.

Everyone must submit an application before an appointment is made to meet the dogs. Dogs are introduced to prospective adopters BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

***Not able to adopt? Consider FOSTERING one of our four-legged friends***

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rudolph, a Greeneville German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Greeneville, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Greeneville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greeneville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greeneville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greeneville paves the way for another one to be saved.
