Jake's Story...
If you are looking for a calm, loving and gentle dog, look no further, Jake is the boy for you! Jake is a 2 year old Border Collie mix looking for his forever home! Jake is a handsome boy. He currently weighs 22 pounds. He does need a little time to feel comfortable in new situations, but comes around quickly. Jake is very affectionate. He savors all the love and attention he can get. Jake has a gentle, sweet nature. He longs to love and be loved! Jake is such a good boy. He is quiet and has nice house manners. He is already crate trained and housetrained. He walks nicely on the leash too. Jake would do best in a home with older children because he likes an easygoing pace. Jake is healthy, current on all vaccinations and has been neutered. He also has a microchip. He is currently in Louisiana but transport is available to the northeast at no additional charge. Please contact April at apr0227@msn.com if you would like to adopt Jake! Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Portsmouth Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Portsmouth, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Portsmouth.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portsmouth already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portsmouth breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portsmouth paves the way for another one to be saved.
