Rascal's Story...
Why Choose me?

Rascal is a 21 year old sweetie. He is also an owner surrender. He was surrendered because he has an incontinence problem, and his owner was hoping that someone else might adopt him. I’ve never met a dog that was 21 years old, but I don’t think Rascal is typical. He is quite spry and can still move quickly. He loves being held. I would put him down to take his picture but a minute later he had his paws on my leg asking me to hold him again. He never barked but waited patiently hoping I’d reach for him. I could not resist. I loved holding him. He would place a paw on my hand and nestle close. I hope that a rescue or someone with a big heart will take this senior gentleman. I only met him today, and already he has stolen my heart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rascal, a Athens Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Athens, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
