Boss's Story...
Why Choose me?

When I first met Boss, he was frightened and didn’t want to come out of his kennel. I had someone at Animal Control help me put a leash on him. Once we were in an interaction pen, it didn’t take long for Boss to trust me. First, I gave Boss treats, which he loved, and then I made a great discovery. Boss loves to play ball! Almost every time that I threw the ball, he brought it back and dropped it at my feet or near me. We both had fun. He forgot about his fear of being at Animal Control and let me pet and hug him. Later in the day, as I passed Boss’s run, I called him to his gate and reached in to pet him. He put his head against my hand and even gave me a kiss a few times. I wanted to see if he’d let me take him out again, and he did with no problems. We were in an interaction pen next to Cy, a good-natured pit that I adore. They were both friendly at the fence between them and would have loved to play together. I was glad to see Boss adjusting to his new environment. Boss is an owner surrender. His owner’s work schedule didn’t allow enough time for Boss. Come meet this sweet and fun boy today. As an owner surrender, he isn’t guaranteed any amount of time, and the pound is once again getting full.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Boss, a Athens American Bulldog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Athens, or seeking a American Bulldog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with American Bulldog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
