Lexy's Story...
Why Choose me?
When we took a first glance at Lexy as we were walking toward her run, my husband thought she was a skunk, and I thought she was a long-haired black cat. When we took her out for her picture, we changed our minds and decided she was a Buddha, with that serene half-smile of hers. She is a complete sweetheart, happy to be in your arms, happy to wander around the interaction pen, sampling the smells. Lexy has a very pronounced waddle to her walk and a certain chunkiness to her middle that suggests she may be pregnant. Animal Control will have her checked out to be sure. If she’s pregnant, she can only be released to a rescue group, but if not, she is ready to bring joy to a new family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lexy, a Athens Schipperke/Papillon dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Schipperke/Papillon for sale in Athens, or seeking a Schipperke/Papillon dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Schipperke/Papillon breeders who help with Schipperke/Papillon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
