Precious Precious's Story...
Surgery scheduled for April 1st!! Donations needed! Contact Karen at canyon-people@charter.net
if you can help!!

Update: The vet has determined that Precious’ leg must be amputated. We are so sad but know she will be fine without it and it will not slow her down nor dampen her spirit and love for life. This is the 2nd GAP dog in 2 months that has had to have a leg amputated. Nicholas is doing great and doesn’t miss a beat—we know Precious will do the same. We just need to raise more money!!

Precious comes to us with a story of perseverance and determination. Precious was found on a highway in east Texas by a good Samaritan after she was hit by a car, she was able to drag herself off the road to safety where she continued to stay for 5 days. The good Samaritan fed Precious and provided her shelter to protect her from the freezing rain, ice, snow and temperatures until rescue operations could be set up. After rescue Precious was taken to the vet to be checked out. She was found to have nerve damage in her front paw, underweight, had fleas and tape worms, but overall she was found in good health. She is heartworm negative and has been started on her prevention. Precious was boarded at the vet for approximately a week - during this time it was found Precious had lacked trust of humans. It is thought she was abused and was left to fend for herself for some time. With time and patience Precious has come around and is beginning to trust again. She loves to give kisses, hugs, sit in your lap and craves affection. She is unsure about dog toys but is taking to her baby lion and learning what toys are. She is great at walking on a leash, knows how to sit on command, took to her temporary dog igloo quite quickly but prefers to be indoors with human interaction and loves to run and play- even with her injured front paw. She is thought to be 1 year old. Precious has a large heart and is looking for her fur-ever home. (She weighs about 40 lbs)

Check out this cute video of Precious running and playing despite her floppy useless leg—she has such a strong spirit and desire to do all the fun things that dogs do! Taking the leg off will allow her more freedom to do this---and it has to be done!!!

About Our Shelter...
Euless Animal Services is a division of the City of Euless. The City of Euless population is 49,758. All animals picked-up within the Euless city limits are kept at this facility for three days not including Sundays. After this "stray hold" period the animals are available for adoption.

Trinity GAP Club is a high school girls' club that is dedicated to showing young women a better alternative to what to do with their time and their lives. Our main community project is to work with the Euless Animal Shelter and find homes for the animals that come there so that more animals don't have to be unnecessarily put down. All of the sponsors of the club are avid animal lovers and feel very deeply that it is our mission to help those that can't help themselves. Find out more at www.trinitygaprescue.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Precious Precious, a Euless Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Euless, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Euless.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Euless already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Euless breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Euless paves the way for another one to be saved.
