Gracious's Story...
Gracious was rescued from a shelter. She was in bad shape when we rescued her. She had been left in a dog run and was hosed down when they cleaned the run. Her fur was so matted, wet and nasty. She has come so far since finding safety in our rescue. She has limited vision but can see well enough to get where ever she wants to go. She is very laid back. She does not ask for much. She does great with other dogs. I'm sure she would do great with cats and kids too. We are not sure of her age but put her around 9.She weighs 13 pounds. She is up to date on all her medical and is micro chipped. She has a great appetite. She will let you know when its meal time. Gracious would love to have her fur ever home. She does well with her potty times. She will go to the door to go out. She would love to sleep in your bed but would be quite happy sleeping in her own bed. Gracious got her name when she was picked up for the shelter. The ladies who got her kept saying "Goodness Gracious" because of her condition.

Gracious is being fostered in Richmond Va. Her adoption fee is $200. If you would like to be considered in adopting Gracious complete our online adoption application. We require a home visit and vet reference. our web site is:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracious, a Richmond Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pekingese for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Pekingese dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pekingese breeders who help with Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
