My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! I am Max! And I am what you all call a pure bred golden retriever! I was used as a "stud" dog for many years but now I am done and ready for the sweet life! I am 6 years old, quite handsome and very, very sweet! I love other dogs, obviously and I am quite healthy considering where I came from, 57 pounds. So, let's see. I am handsome, I really like other dogs and oh yeah, I wiggle with excitement and turn in circles when I get attention from you humans. I know this picture makes me look like I am growling but I do make noises when you don't pet me. The nice lady was trying to take my picture I guess but I just wanted her to pet me! I mean, I am a golden retriever - that just a given!

NOTE: Adopt A Golden Knoxville rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in your area. These dogs are fostered in private homes in East Tennessee. Therefore, it is not possible to meet the dogs and pups prior to their adoption. They are brought up north on a USDA transporter.
