Ruff Ruff! My name is Winston
|Breed:||Beagle||Color:||Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - With White||Age:||Senior|
I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
Winston came to SEBR in January and was a very sick fellow. He had pneumonia and had lots of gunk in his lungs. With the help of our wonderful vet, we nursed him back to health and his personality bloomed as he began to feel better. He is such an amiable fellow who loves affection and enjoys exploring outdoors - but at a leisurely pace. He can get pretty frisky when someone has just arrived home from work and will do his share of running around then! Winston is not a big barker and has a fairly quiet bark when he does vocalize. He has made straight A's in house training from the start, and although he did fine being crated, he has earned the trust of his foster family to have his freedom. Winston has shown us his true beagle colors though in that food must be kept safely out of reach. He may be a little hard of hearing, so sometimes you need to catch his eye to tell him what you want - but he will sit for a treat in a heartbeat! Winston has a friendly tail wag for everyone he meets - person and dog alike, and although we have not actually seen him with cats, we think he would most likely do well with them also.
Just recently Winston had some surgery to remove some troublesome growths so we will be getting new pictures of his lovely white face posted soon.
If you are considering giving a sweet and friendly senior a home, Winston would be sure to bring you great joy and companionship!
