Colby's Story...
Colby and his friend Murphy were found together on an isolated strip mine hollow in Eastern, Kentucky. Luckily for them a volunteer rescuer drives to the location once a week to check for any dropped-off dogs. Colby is a sweet, hyper dog who loves to run and play. He is approximately 1 year old and is still growing out of his puppy stage. He is very smart and eager to please. He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes. He would do great with older children but could easily knock down tiny ones if he jumps on them. Colby has been neutered, up-to-date with vaccinations, given de-wormer and flea preventative. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Colby, a Hazard Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Hazard, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Hazard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hazard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hazard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hazard paves the way for another one to be saved.
