Emerson's Story...
Emerson is a beautiful ,one year old,8lb. male Chihuahua. He was recently rescued from a shelter. He was so scared,it was difficult to get him out for people to see. There were volunteers who sat in the kennel with him and that made a big difference. He is now in a foster home..with a big .older Mastiff, who Emerson ADORES!The first night he got up on his hind legs and held onto "Rufus's" jowels and was kissing him. Thank goodness Rufus is so gentle and didn't care. Emerson is an innocent soul who is starting to play, especially outside. He runs and rolls in the grass..following Rufus,of course. And he is allowing the foster mom to love him more and more. Emerson is absolutely blossoming and anyone who adopts him will be blessed. This person/home needs to know that Emerson must be treated with extra gentleness and kindness. From that security of love Emerson will continue to become the best little guy anyone would love forever...and he will love you back with all his heart. He will be nuetered before adoption. He is current on shots.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Emerson, a Santa Barbara Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
