Zoe's Story...

Zoe is an amazingly sweet, mellow, one year old, 45 lb Wesslpointer (we think) (a mix of a German Shorthair, a Lab and an English Pointer)! Zoe was adopted a few months ago from a shelter but is now in need of yet another new home. Turns out that Zoe does not like the 2 other dogs living in her household and will need to be an only dog (or at the very least will be VERY VERY picky about her dog housemate).

Zoe is amazing with people and totally loves kids. She is currently living with children when the kids are playing loudly all around her, she just lays on her bed and watches...she does not get caught up in the high energy play. She does occasionally need to be reminded not to jump up when the kids are running around the yard playing with her.

This pretty little girl is house trained, crate trained and knows several commands including sit, come and lay down. Zoe is pretty good on a leash, but will pull when she sees other dogs. She is not a barker at all and is very intelligent, picking up things very quickly – she is eager to please her people. She does tend to test boundaries if she is not challenged so exercise and routine will be good for her. She would excel with interactive games and play time with her people.

Zoe LOVES to be petted, she just closes her eyes and soaks up the love, but she isn't demanding about it, just grateful for affection. This is a dog that is kind, takes treats with the gentlest touch and will be a perfect companion always.

She is also extremely birdy and does have webbed feet; she would make a wonderful hunting companion. This girl wants nothing more than to do as you ask and is very intelligent. She is very athletic and rides great in the car.

If you are looking for a great family dog or a companion to hike or hunt with and have no other pets (no cats, no dogs) in your household Zoe would be a great fit. She is truly a love.

Zoe is vaccinated, micro-chipped, heart worm screened (negative) and will be spayed on 1/9/13

If you would like to meet Zoe and possibly add her to your family, please complete an adoption application here:

There is a $50 adoption fee which covers all her vetting and microchip.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zoe, a Boise Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pointer/Labrador Retriever for sale in Boise, or seeking a Pointer/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Boise.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Boise already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Boise breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pointer/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Pointer/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Boise paves the way for another one to be saved.
