Socks is a traditionally marked 8-9 years young female purebred black and white Border Collie with a rough coat. She was relinquished to BCIN. Socks has had an adjustment period, as she has had a lot to process since she came into our program. She is settling down nicely, as she was a bit anxious and nervous at first. She takes time to warm up to you, and if you approach her quickly from over her head, she can snap at you. She just needs a calm and patient person, and then she becomes like putty. As a result, she should be placed in a quieter household where there are no children. Socks has been well taken care of and has been an only dog. She probably would prefer staying an only dog, however, her previous owner says she does not mind small or larger dogs. Socks was introduced to 2 of my dogs during her evaluation, and she showed no negative behavior towards them. In fact, she seemed to perk up quite a bit with the male. Socks is housebroken and has nice house manners. She has had intermediate obedience training and she walks very well on the leash. Socks loves to go for rides in the car. She is not destructive and is not an escape artist. Socks’ favorite activity is to play with tennis balls and to play catch.
