Tango's Story...
This beautiful girl is Tango. Tango is a medium sized, brown, 1-2 year old, Shepherd, Terrier Mix. This poor girl was found as a stray. Who would not want Tango and her cute ears? Well she is confident her new forever home is out there. Tango seems pretty settled. She enjoys being around people and going for walks. She is a smart girl and already knows the command sit. She might know some others. She is a gentle girl and takes treats from your hand softly. She seems interested in meeting other dogs so if you have any dogs please bring them in to meet Tango. Tango deserves a soft bed in a loving home. Please hurry in with your family and say hello to Tango.

About Our Shelter...
The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 32,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.

In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement. Other exciting ACCT Philly programs include a food pantry for low-income pet owners, a vibrant volunteer program, trap-neuter-return for community cats, a unique Pen Pal program to assist dogs at risk … and so much more!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tango, a Philadelphia Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
