I am already spayed, up to date with shots, not good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Alex is a gorgeous lady that is about 3 years old. She originally came to us in 2009 with three of her siblings when their mother was believed to be killed. Alex and her sister Faye were adopted out together right away, but when their owner became ill and unable to care for them, they were returned a couple of years later. Alex is a very friendly girl that would prefer a quiet home with older children, and no other pets. 9/6/12 File#21862

The Associated Humane Societies, founded in 1906, is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. We comprise three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls . Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park Zoo. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park Zoo is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501 (c) 3 organization, and Popcorn Park is also a federally licensed zoo. The Society prides itself on our devotion to the thousands of animals that we care for annually and the chance for a better life we offer them. Our animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 12pm to 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 5pm.
We require a completed adoption application which can be obtained at our facility, or from our website: www.ahscares.org. We also require proof of home ownership if you own, or a copy of a lease stating that pets are allowed with no restrictions if you rent. We require vet records for any pets owned in the last five years as well. Our adoption fees vary based on age, breed, etc. Please call our facility for exact fee 609-693-1900.
We are the primary Animal Control for Barnegat, Waretown, West Creek, Surf City. We take in animals in need from all of the country.
