Chiquita's Story...
Little Chiquita was abandoned when her owner left the state and decided she didn't want her anymore. She is 6-7 years old and weighs around 10 lbs.
She is such a pretty, sweet girl in need of love. Chiquita likes to stick close to you and she is slowly learning to trust again.
She likes people but she is afraid of small children and does not like them near her.
Chiquita is housetrained, current on all vaccines and is spayed.
Adoption only open to Southern California residents.
An adoption application must be filled out prior to anyone meeting any of our dogs.
We do not adopt our dogs to households with children under 10 years old.
Contact Death Row Dogs Rescue to receive an application at or (818) 380-1219

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chiquita, a Van Nuys Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Van Nuys, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Van Nuys.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Van Nuys already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Van Nuys breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Van Nuys paves the way for another one to be saved.
