Fiona's Story...
Fiona is a 3 month old American Pit Bull Terrier puppy who has a fun-loving and spunky personality. She is playful, but also does outstanding during training and gives 95% of her full-attention to whomever is working with her. She's very eager to please, and because of this, I see a lot of potential in her.

Fiona, in my opinion, has outstanding potential to undergo training to be a therapy dog or something similar. When doing things like teaching hand commands, and getting her to look at me instead of her food/treats/toys/whatever; learning "stay", "down", "sit", and "leave it" (both voice and hand), and things of the like, she caught on within a matter of minutes.

I believe all of the puppies from her litter are very intelligent and trainable, but Fiona has a ton of potential to take it to a much higher level. Just as I think Callie would do great with more physically challenging activities like frisbee, agility courses, and things of the like.

She absolutely adores being carried around like a baby. She is wonderful with other dogs, as well as with young children (toddlers included). She is being fostered with two cats, however, the cats keep their distance. Fiona tries to play with them, but they aren't very interested.

Fiona does great using potty pads indoors (never misses) and going potty outside, too!

About Our Rescue Group...
Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters, as well as saving dogs from living in deplorable conditions within Puppy Mills. Our focus is on abused, neglected, injured, and otherwise special needs dogs; in addition to a focus on overpopulated breeds, such as pit bulls, pit-mixes, and chihuahuas. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.

We are always looking for adopters, fosters, donations, volunteers, etc.. Please let us know if you would like to get involved by contacting us at one of the email addresses found below.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fiona, a Ryland Heights American Pit Bull Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Ryland Heights, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier puppy from a breeder in Ryland Heights.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ryland Heights already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ryland Heights breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ryland Heights paves the way for another one to be saved.
